Writing Industries Conference

Just a quick entry to say I had a great day at the Writing Industries Conference on Saturday. The event was organised by Writing East Midlands and The Literature Network and held at Loughborough University and, thanks to the fantastic efforts of Aly Stoneman, Damien Walter and all the rest of the team, ran like clockwork. Graham Joyce delivered a great keynote speech entitled The End of the Print Age, and the day was packed with panels and workshops. Hello again to everyone I met there!

The Writing Industries Conference 2010

Just booked my ticket for The Writing Industries Conference 2010. It's taking place at Loughborough University on Saturday 6th March. The line-up of panels and speakers looks fabulous. Here's the blurb:

"The Writing Industries Conference brings together writers from across the East Midlands and beyond with professionals from the writing industries to share knowledge, develop skills and make new contacts. The conference is open to anyone with an interest in writing, from unpublished writers who want to learn more to bestselling novelists."

Check out the official website for a full programme of events ... maybe I'll see you there?

Fantasycon this weekend

I can't believe it's nearly time for the British Fantasy Society's annual Fantasycon. It's in Nottingham again this year, at the Britannia Hotel. It runs from 18–20 September – check out their website here for all the details. If you're around on the Saturday you stand a good chance of running into me. Hell, if you wave a book in my face I'll even sign it for you. See you there!
